An international ground travel booking platform called Busbud, based in Canada, has acquired Ratality, a South African firm that offers revenue management improvement software to ground transportation providers.

Ratality is a software and cloud-based solutions provider that was founded in 2017 and makes it easy for ground transportation companies to digitally manage their businesses and maximise profits. The company provides solutions for operators of many different kinds of ground transportation, including buses, coaches, ferries, charters, excursions, and transfers.

Acquisition of Ratality expands Busbud

Ratality has now been acquired by the Canadian company Busbud, a leading global mobility group that operates marketplaces focused on ground travel where travellers can book intercity bus and train tickets on over three million routes in over 80 countries all over the world.

Busbud’s business suite will be improved with innovative features including fleet and driver management, flexible pricing, intelligent demand forecasting, and solutions for the charter and rentals industries by using Ratality’s distinct expertise.

By partnering with Ratality, Busbud may expand its offerings and turn into a comprehensive global solution supplier for operators. Through the acquisition, Busbud’s presence in Africa is increased and their current collaboration is strengthened.

Partnering with Busbud broadens their platform’s audience to include bus operators globally, stated Arend de Waal, Ratality’s co-founder and CEO. Their innovative revenue management strategies, which have already shown success in other travel-related industries like airlines, provide their partners with an instant return on investment. All things considered, this combination maximises revenue and operational efficiency for bus operators by unlocking unrealized potential.

Maximising efficiency for bus operators and enhancing revenue management

According to LP Maurice, the CEO and co-founder of Busbud, he said, Partnering with Ratality would add a missing piece to Busbud’s growing business-to-business offering.

He also added that they have heard first-hand from ground travel operators the tangible results they’ve achieved by using Ratality to generate more revenue for their businesses.

They were extremely impressed by the technology and capabilities of their platform. It just really made sense to bring Ratality’s team of revenue management experts on board and integrate these features further into their core B2B platform.

Maurice continued that they wanted all of their operator partners throughout the world to have access to these capabilities. They have over ten years of experience working with ground transportation operators, and they benefit from their success. For the benefit of their operator partners, they are eager to continue innovating with Ratality in the years to come.
