Cellulant Nigeria appoints Ibrahim Gbolahan Aminu as General Manager

Cellulant has appointed Ibrahim Gbolahan Aminu to the position of General Manager in Nigeria. As a result of this position, Ibrahim will be in charge of managing and supervising day-to-day operations, as well as providing leadership throughout the expansion of Tingg’s (Cellulant’s Digital Payments platform) coverage across Nigeria.

Ibrahim is a business manager with experience in digital payments, consumer channel development, market segmentation, cross-border remittances, and product management. He received both a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Business Administration from Obafemi Awolowo University. Ibrahim is currently working toward his Doctorate in Business Administration. His experience ranges from the financial technology sector through banking, the oil and gas industry, and the pharmaceutical sector. He holds credentials in the areas of project management as well as fraud detection, prevention, and control.

Sike Bamisebi, the Global Chief Business Officer for Cellulant, commented on the appointment by saying, “We are happy to announce the hiring of Ibrahim as General Manager for Cellulant in Nigeria. In the field of financial technology, Ibrahim contributes a significant amount of knowledge as well as competence.’’

This appointment comes at a time when Tingg by Cellulant, which provides a suite of digital payment solutions for businesses all across Africa, has witnessed increasing acceptance in Nigeria over the course of the previous year. For instance, the company’s proximity payments solution, Instore, has achieved growth of 200% in the past six months alone.

Tingg is the payments partner for a large number of businesses in Nigeria, including GIG Logistics, Perfect Trust Cosmetics, Simba Group, and Chicken Republic, as well as international businesses like Emirates, Bolt, and PepsiCo. Tingg also works with global businesses like Bolt and PepsiCo. Businesses in Nigeria, including those in the airline, quick-service restaurant, electronic commerce, ride-hailing, retail, and remittances industries, are able to pay and be paid seamlessly both offline and online with the use of this platform.

Additionally, the platform enables firms to monitor transactions effortlessly, reconcile accounts, and make payments on time. The merchants may get an overall picture of how well their business is doing across all of their locations by using the payment gateway.
