Nvidia‘s founder and CEO, Jensen Huang, made headlines at the CES 2025 conference with groundbreaking announcements on Tuesday.
He captivated an audience of over 6,000 attendees, revealing new technologies that aim to revolutionise robotics and gaming.
Innovations in robot training
Nvidia introduced its Cosmos foundation models, which generate synthetic training videos for robots and self-driving cars. This innovative approach significantly reduces costs associated with traditional data collection methods.
Huang explained, “By creating synthetic training data, we allow robots to learn about the physical world in a way similar to how large language models assist chatbots”.
This technology promises to enhance the efficiency of training autonomous systems, eliminating the need for extensive real-world data gathering.
Additionally, Nvidia’s Omniverse platform has been expanded to support these advancements. It allows developers to simulate robot behaviours in virtual environments, facilitating better training outcomes.
Huang emphasised that this shift is crucial for the future of robotics, stating, “All of the enabling technologies… will lead to rapid breakthroughs in general robotics”.

Gaming chips and automotive partnerships
Alongside its AI innovations, Nvidia unveiled the RTX 50 series gaming chips, designed to enhance video game graphics. These chips utilise AI-driven techniques for realistic rendering, and their prices range from £549 to £1,999.
Huang stated that this new generation of graphics processing units (GPUs) marks a significant advancement in gaming technology. “Blackwell, the engine of AI, has arrived for PC gamers,” he added.
In a strategic move, Nvidia partnered with Toyota to develop advanced AI solutions for autonomous vehicles.
This collaboration aims to integrate Nvidia’s technologies into Toyota’s automotive systems, enhancing safety and functionality. Huang emphasised the significance of these partnerships, stating, “The autonomous vehicle revolution is here.”
The announcements at CES 2025 highlight Nvidia’s commitment to pioneering advancements in robotics and gaming, positioning itself at the forefront of technological innovation.
