The iPhone 12 was significantly improved over the iPhone 11. If you’re considering an upgrade or your first buy from this series, our comparative review will help you grasp the essential differences and choose the suitable model.

The iPhone 12 stands out with its updated design, which features flat corners like the iPhone 4 and 5. Its 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display features finer colours, deeper blacks, and higher contrast than LCD panels. The display supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision for vibrant images.

However, the iPhone 11’s rounded corners and aluminium frame make it familiar. Its 6.1-inch Liquid Retina HD display has 1792 x 828 pixels. Although bright and vibrant, the display lacks OLED screens’ deep blacks and excellent contrast, making HDR material less engaging.

Performance, 5G Connectivity

The iPhone 12’s A14 Bionic chip is the first to use 5nm technology, making it speedy and efficient. The chip improves performance and energy efficiency by improving multitasking, gaming, and AI-driven features.

The iPhone 12 is speedier and more responsive. Its 5G connectivity improves download and upload speeds, streaming quality, and latency, making it future-proof for new networks and services.

With its A13 Bionic chip, the iPhone 11 handles most tasks well. Despite age, the A13 chip can handle gaming, multitasking, and regular use.

It’s less powerful and efficient than the A14 Bionic. The iPhone 11 uses 4G LTE, not 5G. It has consistent network performance but not 5G speeds or capabilities.

Cam System

The iPhone 12 has dual 12MP wide and ultra-wide cameras. Both lenses have Night Mode, which improves low-light photography. Deep Fusion and Smart HDR 3 improve photo detail and dynamic range. Smartphones have never supported Dolby Vision HDR video recording like the iPhone 12.

The iPhone 11 has dual 12MP wide and ultra-wide cameras. Although the ultra-wide lens lacks Night Mode, it performs admirably in varied lighting settings. The iPhone 12 has superior computational photography. Dolby Vision HDR recording is not supported, but video capabilities are vital.

Battery Life, Build

The iPhone 12 has a smaller battery than the iPhone 11, but the A14 chip improves battery life. Expect 17 hours of video playback. It features MagSafe charging for faster wireless charging and easy accessory installation. The Ceramic Shield front cover improves drop performance fourfold. With an IP68 classification, it is water—and dust-resistant, making it more robust in harsh settings.

The iPhone 11’s bigger battery allows 17 hours of movie playback. The A13 chip’s lower power consumption extends its battery life over the iPhone 12. It enables Qi wireless charging but is slower than MagSafe. The IP68 grade makes the iPhone 11 water- and dust-resistant. It lacks Ceramic Shield, making it more drop-prone than the iPhone 12.

Both the iPhone 12 and 11 offer strengths for different demands and budgets. The iPhone 12 suits individuals seeking 5G connectivity, the newest technologies, and a great display and camera.

If you want a durable, high-performing gadget without breaking the bank, the iPhone 11 is still a good choice. Your preference for cutting-edge features or cost-effectiveness will determine your choice.
