Dashen Bank, Ethio Telecom launch ‘Zoorya’ to advance business digitisation in Ethiopia

Dashen Bank partners with Mastercard, Accion to expand digital banking for Ethiopian MSMEs and women entrepreneurs

Dashen Bank, Ethio Telecom, and ETTA Solutions jointly introduced “Zoorya,” a business automation solution that unifies cash register, point of sale, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems on a single platform, on Saturday.

The solution is designed for businesses in industries like manufacturing, retail, hospitality, and import/export.

Zoorya’s goals

Its goal is to significantly modernise service delivery; optimise business processes and workflows; enable data-driven decision-making; and improve overall customer satisfaction and experience.

The “Zoorya” solution contributes to the creation of a cashless society by facilitating quick business transactions, guaranteeing transparent operations, and enabling safe and contactless business transactions.

It is an Indigenous business solution created with local knowledge to suit Ethiopia’s business environment and is intended to contribute significantly to the expansion of the country’s digital economy.

Additionally, the “Zoorya” business solution offers a fiscal accounting service that has been approved by the Ethiopian Ministry of Revenue and can accept all domestic and international cards.

Additionally, it allows businesses to easily manage their resources by providing a single, consolidated platform for resource management.

Roles played by the three institutions

The three institutions have all played crucial roles in the groundbreaking national initiative, the “Zoorya” solution.

ETTA Solutions gave Ethiopia a new direction by creating this innovative, integrated business solution.

In contrast, Ethio Telecom will spearhead the marketing and distribution of the solution to retailers throughout the business sector, hosting the platform on its dependable TeleCloud infrastructure and integrating it with its 54 million-strong Telebirr payment system.

Leading the way in bringing new digital financial services to Ethiopia, Dashen Bank makes it easier to get foreign exchange for the importation of the necessary equipment.

Additionally, by integrating the solution with its payment services, the bank will guarantee easy payment options and provide service providers with a “Buy Now, Pay Later” financing model.

Designed for rapid deployment

Designed for quick deployment, the “Zoorya” digital automation platform allows merchants to set up their ERP systems in less than a minute.

The solution is scalable by nature and is based on a solid cloud architecture. The architecture ensures that the platform grows in tandem with the needs of the business, enabling companies to begin with a single branch and easily expand by adding new locations at any time.

To prove operational efficiency and encourage financial inclusion, the three institutions will collaborate over the next two years to offer these cutting-edge digital solutions to more than 10,000 merchants and continue to develop their services.
