DJI Goggles are high-quality first-person view (FPV) headsets for DJI drones that enable an immersive flying experience. Each variant has features geared toward drone enthusiasts and pros.DJI’s initial Goggles, introduced in April 2017, work with the Mavic Pro, Phantom 4, and Inspire series. Two 5-inch 1080p screens provide sharp, high-definition viewing on these goggles.

The 85-degree FOV and 6-hour battery life suit the goggles for long flights. Head tracking lets the pilot control the drone’s yaw and camera tilt with head motions, and touchpad controls on the goggles make menu navigation easy. The goggles can be used with other HDMI devices with an HDMI input.

The DJI Goggles Racing Edition (RE)

In November 2017, DJI introduced the DJI Goggles Racing Edition (RE) for DJI and third-party drones, primarily FPV racing drones. The RE version matches the original goggles with two 5-inch 1080p screens and an 85-degree FOV. Battery life is about 6 hours for the RE version.

Advanced head tracking, a 12-channel 5.8 GHz analogue signal receiver for FPV racing, and a low-latency OcuSync transmission module are added. For hardcore FPV racers, these goggles provide multiple antenna options for better reception and range.

DJI released the DJI FPV Drone with Goggles in March 2020. These goggles are designed for the DJI FPV Drone and can be utilised with other air units. They provide an immersive experience with dual 2-inch 1440×810 panels and a large 150-degree FOV. A 6-hour battery life is estimated.

A low latency of 28 milliseconds allows near-real-time FPV and HD video transmission up to 720p at 120fps or 1080p at 60fps. Audience Mode lets multiple goggle units receive drone footage, making it ideal for group flights.

In August 2022, DJI unveiled the DJI Goggles 2 with the DJI Avata, its latest FPV technology. These goggles are for the DJI Avata but may work with other DJI FPV systems. They have 90-degree FOV micro-OLED panels with 1080p resolution per eye. The goggles are lighter and more comfortable for extended use, but the battery life is only 2 hours. Adjustable diopters for glasses wearers and OcuSync 3.0 transmission improve video quality and range.

The standard features of DJI Goggles

All DJI Goggles models enable immersive FPV, making drone flying more fun and intuitive. Head tracking improves pilot control by making camera and gimbal motions intuitive. Adjustable headbands and padding make the goggles comfortable for extended usage. HDMI, USB, and microSD card slots extend capability.

There are numerous applications for DJI Goggles. Low-latency video transmission and improved head tracking help FPV racers and recreational fliers have a more engaging flying experience. Photographers and videographers may frame pictures more correctly and artistically, and the straightforward design helps inexperienced drone pilots learn.

DJI Goggles are adaptable, high-quality FPV headsets that provide immersive, high-definition drone views to enhance piloting. DJI Goggles set the standard for drone piloting in recreational flight, FPV racing, professional photography, and education.
