Moroccan startup DONE.ma has secured $2.1 million in seed funding to develop Morocco’s first homegrown super app.

DONE, founded in 2024 by Mohamed El Ghaissani, began as a meal delivery platform but swiftly expanded to unite many digital businesses under one Moroccan mobile app.

“From the beginning, our ambition was to build a super app that simplifies people’s lives and shows that Morocco can produce tech solutions competitive at an international level,” said El Ghaissani.

Expansion bond food delivery

DONE currently operates in eight Moroccan regions, partnering with over 1,000 restaurants and retailers and supported by 500 delivery ambassadors and a team of 90 employees. With this funding, the company wants to expand into more than ten Moroccan cities and offer e-commerce, rapid commerce, urban mobility, financial services, and food delivery. The app will encourage financial inclusion using digital wallets and Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) alternatives.

Local funding fuels national digital vision

Moroccan investors and business angels funded the $2.1 million seed round, demonstrating local faith in the digital environment. This regional support is notable in a region where companies generally use foreign finance.

DONE’s mission aligns with Morocco’s national digital transformation strategy, which aims to accelerate socio-economic development by providing inclusive access to digital services by 2030.

Mohamed El Ghaissani emphasised that DONE is not just a business venture but a symbol of Morocco’s capacity to generate jobs, export technology, and build competitive platforms from home.

The company is poised to position Morocco as a key player in Africa’s growing super app market, projected to exceed $30 billion by 2030.

DONE aims to build a platform that delivers multiple services seamlessly, creating a unified user experience that meets the diverse needs of Moroccan and African consumers.
