As part of its strategic roadmap for 2022-2027, EBank has inaugurated the Information Security Academy (InfoSec) in collaboration with the Egyptian Banking Institute (EBI), the training arm of the Central Bank of Egypt.

The academy is designed to nurture young talents, equipping them with the skills necessary to support the Bank’s technological advancement while also promoting financial literacy in line with national objectives.

Ebank wants to enhance service offerings and invest in digitalisation and contemporary technology while providing value to the communities it serves. Given the importance of Cybersecurity and information security to digitalisation excellence, EBank recognises the need for a skilled workforce to ensure the security and integrity of banking operations.

InfoSec academy offers a comprehensive six-month training programme aimed at providing participants with a solid understanding of IT systems and security standards. The curriculum, developed jointly by EBank and EBI, will cover a range of specialisations, starting with the SOC (Security Operations Centre) Analyst Track. This track is designed to equip Egyptian youths with both technical digital skills and essential banking competencies.

Supporting Egypt’s vision 2030 and national digital transformation

The InfoSec Academy plays a key role in supporting Egypt’s Vision 2030, which focuses on digital transformation and enhancing national security. Through capacity-building, the programme aims to protect both personal and organisational data, foster trust in digital systems, and contribute to the broader digitalisation objectives of the nation.

Abdel Aziz Nossier, Executive Director of EBI, said that “the launch of this initiative is a continuation of the Institute’s ongoing efforts to develop the technical and personal skills of youth across various fields.

These skills are essential for keeping pace with the evolving demands of the banking industry, particularly in light of the rapid advancements in the broader business sector and the banking sector specifically.”

Bridging the Skills Gap in Egypt’s IT Sector with InfoSec

InfoSec aims to bridge the gap between academic education and the demands of the contemporary labour market, particularly in the IT sector, through participation in a specialised training program at EBI facilities.

Ahmed Galal, Chairperson of EBank stated, “EBank’s youthful, vibrant identity places it at the digital transformation’s forefront. A crucial private sector obligation is to educate and empower youth in technology, aligning with the national digitalisation strategy.

We believe that investing in young talents is central to our industry’s sustainable growth.”

The Academy serves as a training and qualification opportunity for Egyptian university graduates from various faculties specialising in information technology and systems. Registration for this course can be done through the EBI website.
