Emirates, the leading airline based in Dubai, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Crypto.com, a global cryptocurrency platform, to integrate Crypto.com Pay as their customer payment option.

The company announced the partnership today, which will take effect next year. It aims to enhance payment flexibility while adhering to the highest security and compliance standards.

Leaders of both firms signed the new agreement

The agreement was signed by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and CEO of Emirates Airline & Group, and Michael Doersam, Emirates’ Chief Financial and Group Services Officer.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, and Mohammed Al Hakim, President of Crypto.com’s UAE operations, represented the two companies.

Adnan Kazim emphasised the airline’s commitment to evolving with customer preferences, stating: “Partnering with Crypto.com to integrate cryptocurrency into our digital payments system reflects Emirates’ commitment to meeting evolving customer preferences, in addition to tapping into younger, tech-savvy customer segments who prefer digital currencies.”

He added that the initiative aligns with Dubai’s vision to lead in financial innovation while offering customers more transaction flexibility.

On his part, Eric Anziani, President and COO of Crypto.com, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, saying: “We’re delighted to complete the signing of this important MoU with Emirates Airline. As we continue to expand the everyday use case for crypto, integration with exceptional partners such as Emirates will bring real momentum to the digital asset industry.”

Beyond payment integration, the two companies will collaborate on promotional marketing campaigns to raise awareness and encourage adoption of the new payment method.

And, this comes as Dubai strengthens its position as a global cryptocurrency hub, backed by a progressive regulatory framework that balances innovation with investor protection.

Several Dubai-based companies, from real estate developers to telecom giants, have already begun accepting cryptocurrency, signaling a broader shift toward digital finance in the region.
