Facebook has implemented a novel AI feature that provides recommendations for modifying photographs stored on your phone, regardless of whether you have yet to share them.
Meta’s AI can now analyse your camera footage and provide creative suggestions, such as AI restyling, themed photo edits, and collages, directly from your device.
The feature, which will initially be introduced in the United States and Canada, prompts users to consent to “creative ideas generated from their camera roll,” thereby enhancing the experience of sharing photos.
How Facebook’s AI works on your photos
After opting in, Facebook uploads photos from your device to the cloud, where its AI runs ongoing analyses. This allows it to create personalised edit suggestions, including birthday themes, trip recaps, or stylised versions of your images. Even though Meta processes your photographs, it guarantees that the media will not be utilised for ad targeting or AI training unless you share or edit the images. This opt-in feature may be turned off when accessing the app’s settings.
