Egyptian Fawry, a leading provider of financial technology and digital payments, has now established a partnership with Smart Schools, an organization dedicated to implementing innovative educational practices in schools.

The major aim of this partnership is to set up a digital payment gateway and provide innovative digital technology solutions for safe tuition collection.

Fawry hopes to create a greater dependence on digital payments in the education sector by partnering with Smart Schools, eventually benefitting students and parents. With Fawry’s platform, Smart Schools can enable parents and students to pay all tuition and fees digitally, making checks and cash obsolete.

With the help of this collaboration, Fawry is making great progress toward the digitalization of schools and the education system as a whole. More than 625 “smart” schools, serving over 2.4 million pupils, will deploy their innovative electronic payment systems. These services may be accessed through the myFawry mobile app and all Fawry point-of-sale machines in Egypt, as well as the “Fawry Plus” branches located in all governorates.

About the company

Fawry was founded in 2008 and has since evolved into Egypt’s preeminent provider of banking and payment technology services. It offers a suite of all-encompassing options to accommodate the wide variety of merchants’ enterprises, goods, and services, as well as the many payment methods they accept. FawryPay provides both the front-end and back-end technology necessary for smooth interaction with the diverse suite of apps used by our merchants.

By 2010, Fawry had installed 5,000 POS devices, allowing customers to pay using debit or credit cards directly from their bank accounts. This enabled convenient and speedy bill payments via conventional banking channels, a key offering that has helped propel the firm to the forefront of the digital payment solutions industry.

Fawry has expanded the scope of its products to consumers, companies, SMEs, and financial institutions throughout the course of its 12 years of operation, with its alternative digital payments, supply chain solutions, and mobile wallets fast gaining popularity.
