The first Omniverse Summit will take place in Lagos, Nigeria, and is a dynamic convergence platform and summit for the most brilliant minds in African innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship.

The Innovation Support Network (ISN) is involved in the co-creation of the platform. ISN is a nationwide network that connects 180 coworking spaces, incubators, accelerators, and innovation hubs in Nigeria.

The European Union (EU) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) jointly fund the Digital Transformation Center in Nigeria (DTC Nigeria), which is responsible for implementing the Omniverse.

The schedule for the First Omniverse summit

The Omniverse Summit, which takes place at Landmark Centre Lagos from February 27 to March 1, 2024, will offer four (4) days of insightful programming with an emphasis on practical results.

The main themes that guide the summit’s structure are monetisation, innovation, story, and teamwork. The Omniverse Summit will be able to explore its various dimensions because each day of the event will be centred around a central but related theme.

The first day of The Narrative Day will explore stories about Africa and Africans that influence how we see ourselves and the world and how these stories affect our economies, societies, and geopolitics. But, the real focus will be on rebuilding, reframing, and reclaiming these stories for our shared future in the context of showcasing our markets and drawing in investment.

In order to help participants understand the strategies for fostering and inspiring innovation at all levels despite the challenges, the second day of the event, Innovation Day, will explore layers of innovation beyond technology while highlighting innovative pioneers who are revolutionising their fields.

In order to help set up partnership deals and conversations, the third day of the collaboration event, Collaboration Day, will examine the fundamentals of successful partnerships, meaningful alliances, and effective collaborations.

The Monetization Day (Grand Finale) will explore successful methods and techniques for creating enduring, lucrative careers and enterprises, delving into the science of moneymaking.

The summit beyond our main stage will take place in four stages or rooms: the Deal Room, where potential collaborators can meet, negotiate, and possibly close deals; the Development Room, where development partners can provide information and guidance to potential implementation partners looking for project funding. In order to offer direction and support, business analysts, attorneys, and other resources will be positioned in the room; additionally, Sage’s Lounge will be available for private discussions with icons.

In addition to the Career Center, where attendees can obtain professional guidance on job opportunities, industry transitions, and career advancement, there will be a rotating roster of visionaries, mavens, and originators from the tech, business, government, development, and creative industries who will share their wisdom and advice based on their long and illustrious careers.

The importance of collaboration

Despite the importance of sales, marketing, and staffing, many business owners fail to acknowledge the critical need to prioritise opportunities for internal and external collaboration. Businesses and their employees both benefit from productive teamwork.

Your firm isn’t running in a vacuum, whether you prefer it that way or not. There are outside groups and companies that have an impact on your company, and there are employees who work for you that you have an obligation to make happy and productive. In order to succeed, a company must foster an environment that values and rewards teamwork among its owners, managers, employees, and even competitors.

The key to success isn’t working alone but rather collaborating with other businesses to achieve common goals. Internal teamwork and problem-solving capabilities are both enhanced when companies are receptive to employee input and suggestions. Success, new ideas, streamlined processes, and better internal and external communication are all outcomes of productive corporate collaboration.
