FirstBank, the leading financial institution in West Africa, has opened the seventh Digital Xperience Centre (dxc) in Area 10, Garki, Abuja, furthering its drive towards digital transformation.
Reflecting the bank’s vision for innovation and customer convenience, the fully automated branch is built to offer seamless, paperless, and self-service banking around the clock.
FirstBank’s commitment to offering technologically advanced services
Olusegun Alebiosu, MD/CEO of FirstBank Group, Group Chief Executive Officer, stated during the unveiling that the DXC is “the bank of the future,” highlighting FirstBank’s commitment to offering safe and technologically advanced services.
“Account opening is now digital, and customers can do almost everything on their phones. For cash transactions, the DXC offers 24/7 self-service access — even on weekends,” he said.
Alebiosu pointed out that the bank is still making significant investments in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity to improve fraud detection, which is bolstered by a three-tier verification process that uses phone numbers, biometrics, and account information.
More Digital Xperience Centres coming
He revealed that FirstBank currently runs seven DXCs in Nigeria, with plans to open an eighth in Kano and additional expansions in Nsukka, Benin, and Ibadan.
Senator Babangida Hussaini (Jigawa North-West) praised the initiative and called the centre “a model for digital banking excellence,” encouraging other institutions to follow FirstBank’s creative example.
Idris Ado Ibrahim, Group Executive, Retail Banking North Division, claims that the new Abuja DXC will increase customer satisfaction, decrease wait times, and increase efficiency.
The debut demonstrates FirstBank’s continued dedication to reinventing banking and establishing itself as a leader in Nigeria’s digital financial revolution.
