Flapmax, an AI innovator, has launched its Women in AI (WAI) Generative AI Fellowship programme today.  This FAI Institute programme empowers women in AI and drives innovation, particularly in generative AI, which is growing. The programme targets underserved communities in emerging countries like Africa.

Women interested in generative AI can apply by April 8, 2024, for the Women in AI (WAI) program’s third cohort commencing in May 2024.

“We believe in the immense potential of women to shape the future of AI,” stated FAI Institute founder Dr Dave Ojika. By providing training, guidance, and opportunity, we hope to encourage women to flourish in AI careers and contribute to the industry.”

Flapmax says WAI has taught 800 women from 24 nations since its launch. With sponsorship from Intel, Microsoft, and the worldwide women-in-tech community Wentors, the programme gives underrepresented tech groups real-world exposure through practical learning and hands-on projects.

Details on the 2024 Flapmax WomenAI Fellowship

The 4-week WAI virtual course includes hands-on labs on industry-standard AI tools and applications. AI models for commercial solutions and massive dataset analysis will be taught. After the training, fellows will complete an 8-week AI practicum under professional supervision. The fellowship encourages collaboration and portfolio expansion through peer groups, weekly meetings, and networking.

The FAI Institute conducts top university research that is relevant to the industry. It encourages technology growth in disadvantaged populations and conducts the FAI Summit, a forum for ethical AI research, emerging tech, and sustainability. FAI Institute connects young innovators to sustainable technological goals and cutting-edge career skills through WAI.

In WAI 2024, generative AI applicants are sought. Students or professionals with data science or computer programming skills are ideal candidates. They required May–August 2024 availability. Successful applicants may be shortlisted for a casting role in an AI-/creative tech-produced feature film.
