Flutterwave, a leading payments technology company in Africa, reported handling almost $1 billion in transactions between Africa and East Asia in the first half of 2025, evidence of its extensive global enterprise merchant network.

Flutterwave attributes the outcome to a strategic partnership that enables Nigerian companies to pay suppliers in East Asia locally, with the company managing the entire collection process.

“It’s a clear testament that global scale starts with trusted infrastructure – something Flutterwave continues to provide for enterprise merchants looking to do business in Africa from anywhere in the world,” it said in the statement.

Flutterwave’s “Pay with Bank Transfer” surges by 198% in one year

The company reported that between H1 2024 and H1 2025, its total processed value (TPV) in Pay with Bank Transfer increased by 198.08 per cent.

The Nigerian business credited the surge to increased operating system efficiency, prudent cost control, and customer trust.

The company’s first-half review indicates that the goal of streamlining operations in essential markets and concentrating on payment volume that supports immediate long-term objectives already yields notable outcomes.

Due to the performance, during the first half of 2025, the monthly margin doubled YoY and the enterprise payment, F4B Enterprise, saw a nearly 20 per cent YoY increase in TPV.

“This is a strong signal of our maturity, transparency, and readiness to operate globally. For our partners, regulators, and customers, it reinforces one thing: we’re building a fundamentally sound business,” the company said.

Flutterwave’s expansion in Africa

During the reviewed period, the business disclosed expanding its presence in Zambia and obtaining new approvals in Ghana, Cameroon, and Senegal.

The company is taking steps to fortify its regulatory base throughout Africa through cooperation with pertinent Nigerian agencies like FIRS, SMEDAN, and NITDA.

In the first half of the year, Flutterwave acquired 20 new Money Transmitter Licenses (MTLs) in the US, increasing its total to 34, further broadening its global presence. As a result, the business can now operate independently in important states and streamline payments.

Flutterwave’s strong performances in Kuwait and Turkey

Transactions in Turkey increased dramatically for the company, and the Kuwaiti market demonstrated strong momentum, as TPV jumped by 112.11% compared to H1 2024.

This resulted from the company’s collaboration with a significant ride-hailing giant in both countries. This once again demonstrated Flutterwave’s ability to establish a trust network and expedite payments between Africa and the rest of the world.

With unparalleled scale and ambition, Flutterwave facilitates smooth cross-border payments across 17 countries, including 11 in Africa.

A major player in the African payments market, Flutterwave and Moniepoint were named to “The TIME100 Most Influential Companies” list for 2025.

Flutterwave’s Pay with Bank Transfer

Another popular feature is Flutterwave’s Pay with Bank Transfer, which enables users to receive payments through bank transfers.

When it introduced the product in Ghana earlier this year, Flutterwave aimed to break into the country’s payment system, which handled 115 million bank transfer payments in 2023. By introducing a quickly expanding payment method, Ghanaians can now receive payments easily and securely.

Now, Flutterwave disclosed that, thanks mainly to big businesses and enterprises, it processed 26% more transactions in a single quarter than other alternative payment methods.

The company claims that, compared to H1 2024, Ghana’s total transaction value increased 47 times in H1 2025.

Global expansion of Send App by Flutterwave

Its Send App by Flutterwave product has also spread to new US, EU, Ghana, and Egypt markets.

“From Berlin to Ibadan, from New York to Kumasi, Send App makes international money movement feel local, fast, and reliable. Every corridor we unlock, every license we earn, every product we improve contributes to one goal: building strong rails for a stronger Africa,” the company said.

Users in states like Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Utah, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming can now send money directly to Nigeria, Ghana, and Egypt thanks to the company’s relaunch of the Send App by Flutterwave.

The company expressed hope that by connecting Africa to the rest of the world, it would be able to expand its footprint and introduce its products across multiple corridors in its push into H2 2025.
