Flutterwave, Africa’s top payments technology firm, announced on Thursday the relaunch of its Send App remittance service in the United States, now covering 20 additional states.

This expansion follows Flutterwave securing 20 new Money Transmitter Licenses (MTLs), raising its total to 34 licences nationwide, enabling direct operations without intermediaries.

Expanded reach unlocks new remittance corridors

With the Send App’s return, users in the U.S. can now send money to Nigeria, Ghana, and Egypt, opening remittance corridors that were previously unavailable.

The app supports transfers from states including DC, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, Michigan, South Carolina, Tennessee, Alaska, Arizona, and Missouri.

This broad coverage offers millions of Africans in the diaspora easier access to send funds home.

The onboarding process has been simplified with a quick ID verification, speeding up user registration.

Additionally, the app now supports US-issued Visa and Discover cards more efficiently, while enhanced security measures protect transactions and ensure compliance with regulations.

Commitment to seamless and secure transfers

Flutterwave’s CEO, Olugbenga Agboola, expressed pride in the expansion, stating, “Send App is officially back and better in the US. We remain committed to simplifying cross-border payments for the vibrant African diaspora, making it easier for people abroad to send money back home to Nigeria, Ghana, Egypt & Cameroon”.

The company emphasises a user-friendly experience, with improved in-app flows designed for faster and simpler money transfers.

The Send App also offers real-time transaction tracking, exchange rate updates, and features like vouchers and referral codes to enhance user engagement.

The partnership with MainStreet Bank further strengthens Flutterwave’s compliance and security framework, protecting customers’ funds and data.

This latest development marks a significant milestone in Flutterwave’s mission to provide affordable, reliable, and secure money transfer solutions for Africans living in the US, helping support families and communities across the continent.
