Globacom, a Nigerian telecom provider, stated in a statement on Sunday that it has stepped up its nationwide network project to guarantee a better customer experience.
The business claims that in order to guarantee fast speed and an improved data experience for an increasing number of Nigerians, the current phase of network improvement, which started last year, entails the nationwide rollout of new sites and the upgrading of existing ones.

From the core network to access network, transmission and IP network, fibre network, metro access, and backbone infrastructure, as well as passive equipment expansion such as power and environment, it further said that the network update encompasses the full extent of telecom infrastructure upgrades.
The company stated, “The company in the last few months has successfully rolled out hundreds of new sites in Lagos, Ogun, Nasarawa, Rivers, Edo, Ogun, Delta, Cross River, Kaduna, Kano, Rivers, and Abuja.”
“The upgrade was undertaken to expand network capacity, provide more resources for subscribers for enhanced voice and data, and also to boost customer experience in areas where there is congestion,” the company added.
Upgrade of LTE 2600 sites in some locations
Additionally, some tertiary institutions in the states of Rivers, Edo, Abuja, Enugu, and Anambra, as well as important marketplaces in Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, Ondo, and Kwara, have hundreds of LTE 2600 sites integrated. This was done to make sure there was no network congestion and to improve high-speed data in the areas.
Additionally, Globacom has expanded its data network capacity and made improvements to 1700 sites, primarily in Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, Osun, Ekiti, Edo, Delta, Anambra, Enugu, Abia, Ebonyi, Bayelsa, Benue, Nasarawa, Kaduna, and Plateau states, in accordance with the Federal Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy’s and the Federal Government of Nigeria’s broadband penetration initiative.
Customers’ network experience and satisfaction in terms of service delivery, network quality, and coverage will eventually improve as a result of this, as will their data throughput or speed.

Development of 2G, 3G, 4G base stations to boost service delivery
Additionally, hundreds of new locations with 2G, 3G, and 4G base stations are being built nationwide to increase capacity demand and coverage.
In the end, this will enhance consumer satisfaction and network experience in terms of coverage, quality, and service delivery.
The Glo1 undersea cable capacity was recently increased to guarantee optimal utilisation in order to support these expansion initiatives and guarantee Glo customers’ smooth access to ultra-high speed.
In order to guarantee a distinctive calling and surfing experience on the Glo network at all times, it will efficiently support the technological expansions and improvements.
Glo has also started a large nationwide initiative to upgrade its fibre and power infrastructure, replacing thousands of kilometres of its outdated fibre routes with new ones and installing thousands of new generators. The goal is to increase redundancy in order to improve network availability.
