Gmail users can now track their scheduled deliveries in one convenient location with the bold new Purchases tab. There’s no need to search through countless emails for tracking numbers. Google has introduced a special tab that gathers all purchase and delivery information.

This is revolutionary for anyone who places a lot of orders online, particularly as the holidays draw near.

Purchases tab centralises delivery info

With Google’s initial package tracking service, introduced in 2022, users can view shipment updates directly within Gmail without going to carrier websites.

The new Purchases page expands on this by compiling all purchase-related emails in a single display, including those pertaining to previous orders and ongoing shipments. Packages coming within 24 hours are still highlighted at the top of the inbox in Gmail, but users can now quickly view everything on one tab.

Thanks to this design, users will save time and prevent annoyance by not having to sift through emails. For individual Google accounts, the Purchases page is already accessible globally on both mobile and online platforms. Users can quickly check status, anticipated delivery dates, and more with a single click.

Built for the busiest shopping days

According to Google, this function is particularly helpful during the holidays. According to PwC’s 2025 holiday prediction, 39% of gift-giving occurs between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday. With so many deliveries grouped together, keeping everything on pace and less stressful is easier.

Gmail upgrades the Promotions category in addition to Purchases, allowing users to categorise promotional emails by “most relevant” and providing timely offer alerts. Together, these enhancements turn Gmail from a simple inbox into a more intelligent shopping hub.

This rollout comes amid growing online shopping trends and users’ demand for convenience. As Google says, “Having your purchase info centralised is essential when juggling multiple gift orders and delivery schedules”.
