Google recently launched PixelSnap, a response to Apple’s MagSafe technology in the magnetic attachment market.

The newly announced PixelSnap feature, accompanying the Pixel 10 series, enables users to magnetically affix chargers, stands, grips, and many accessories straight to their devices.

This occurred five years after Apple introduced MagSafe in 2020, ultimately providing Android enthusiasts with an integrated magnetic wireless charging solution.

Magnetic charging and accessories for Pixel 10

PixelSnap uses the new Qi2 wireless charging standard, making it compatible with Google’s accessories and many Apple and Belkin MagSafe products.

The Pixel 10 Pro XL supports 25W PixelSnap wireless charging, whereas regular Pixel 10 models support 15W.

At rollout, Google will release PixelSnap accessories like a magnetic charger, charger stand, and ring stand that doubles as a phone grip and kickstand.

Starting at $29.99 for the ring stand, $39.99 for the charger, and $49.99 for the phone cases, PixelSnap accessories feature built-in magnets to maintain compatibility even when the case is worn.

Designed to accommodate even the heaviest Pixel 10 models, including the Fold variant, the magnetic rings facilitate secure attachment and effortless rotation.

How pixelSnap changes the Android experience

Magnetic wireless charging was behind Apple on Android before PixelSnap. Those without magnets needed cases or accessories to match Qi2 charging.

Google’s Pixel 10 series is the first mainstream Android lineup to offer magnetic charging with strong hardware.

The PixelSnap charger stand also turns the phone into a smart hub with time, weather, and home controls while charging.

This makes PixelSnap an ecosystem feature rather than an accessory slot, improving usability beyond wireless power supply.
