Expansion into Nigeria

GO54 has established itself as a significant player in Nigeria’s web hosting landscape, serving over 130,000 customers since its inception in 2007.

The rebranding from WhoGoHost to GO54 reflects the company’s ambition to grow beyond Nigeria and serve all 54 African countries.

CEO Toluwani Adejuyigbe stated, “We are not just a Nigerian business. We are now building for Africa”.

The acquisition will allow Host Africa to leverage GO54’s existing infrastructure and customer base, providing tailored web hosting and cloud services that meet local needs.

Host Africa’s acquisition of GO54 is part of a broader strategy to strengthen its position in West Africa. By utilising local currency payments and offering localised customer support, Host Africa aims to address challenges such as low internet penetration and stiff competition from international firms.

“We are inspired by the opportunity to drive market education and awareness of the benefits of digital adoption for individuals and their businesses,” Adejuyigbe added.

Go54 acquisition strengthens Host Africa’s online solutions

This acquisition marks a significant milestone in the African digital economy, creating a more robust platform for businesses seeking online solutions.

Host Africa plans to integrate GO54’s innovative services into its portfolio, including AI-powered website builders and email marketing tools.

This integration will enhance the user experience for Nigerian businesses looking to establish or improve their online presence.

The move also reflects a growing consolidation trend in African tech, where companies merge to compete more effectively against global giants.

With this acquisition, Host Africa expands its footprint and reinforces its commitment to providing high-quality digital solutions tailored to African markets.

As Host Africa continues its expansion efforts, it faces challenges such as navigating regulatory environments and adapting to diverse market needs across different countries.

Host Africa’s acquisition of GO54 positioned it to capitalise on Nigeria’s and the world’s growing demand for digital services.
