The Mate XT innovative tri-fold smartphone won the title of Best Smartphone worldwide due to its unique design. The revolutionary device got over 8 million pre-orders, demonstrating it was in high demand despite its expensive price.

The official price of the lowest specification was $2800 per unit (about 4.5 million naira) but it has occasionally been resold in China’s underground market for as high as $20,000 per unit.

Leo Stan Ekeh, Chairman of the Zinox Group and Konga Group, is the first Nigerian to sample the triple-folding Mate XT smartphone after senior executives from Huawei presented him with a sample at the Zinox Group Corporate Headquarters in Lagos earlier in the week.

Description of the Huawei Mate XT smartphone

The Huawei Mate XT is a genuinely exceptional gadget, unmatched in terms of power and design. Its inverse dual-hinge design allows it to fold into a distinctive “Z” shape.

This feature gives the phone versatility for several uses by allowing it to change from a standard single-screen phone to a 10.2-inch triple-screen foldable gadget.

When folded, the OLED display is 6.4 inches wide and offers remarkable colour and clarity. When extended, it provides customers with a more expansive and engaging experience, ideal for multitasking.

Huawei’s in-house Kylin CPUs, along with an AI assistant for improved usability, back the Mate XT’s potent performance. It is equipped with 16GB of RAM and storage options ranging from 256GB to 1TB. The device is powered by a 5,600mAh battery, and users can stay connected on the go with fast charging choices of 50W wireless and 66W wired.

The device’s opulent appearance and superior features come at a price point of $2,800 for the 256GB variant.
