Huawei’s Dominance in Smart Cockpits

Smart cockpits and smart driving are pivotal areas where Huawei focuses its automobile intelligence efforts.

User surveys from Huawei retail stores show that the Hongmeng cockpit is highly praised by M5 and M7 model owners, with 88.71% and 94.67% considering it the most satisfying feature of their vehicles, respectively. The forthcoming AITO M9, developed in collaboration with Serise, will be equipped with the advanced Hongmeng 4 system, aiming to establish itself as the epitome of luxury, high-end, and intelligent vehicles.

The Hongmeng 4 system introduces AI large models to further enhance the AI experience. Yu Chengdong emphasized the significance of the Pangu large model, which bolsters the capabilities of the Hongmeng 4 system. The system’s intelligent assistant, Xiaoyi, is the first to harness AI large model capabilities, enabling natural dialogue comprehension and identifying user intent seamlessly.

Competition in AI Large Model Technology for Automobiles

Several auto companies have also announced their plans to incorporate proprietary AI large model technology into their products. Geely Auto has developed a full-stack AI large model technology, set to be released in the second half of the year, encompassing painting, music, language, and autonomous driving capabilities. Baidu Apollo has partnered with Great Wall Motors and Ekka Technology to explore the application of the Wenxin large model intelligent cockpit, targeting car interaction scenarios based on large model capabilities.

According to a report from Orient Securities, vehicle intelligence primarily revolves around autonomous driving and intelligent cockpits. Advancements in AI technology, including BEV, cognition, NLP language, and other large AI model technologies, are propelling vehicle intelligence to new heights. As the competition for vehicle intelligence intensifies, AI large models are poised to become the next technological frontier for major car companies.

With the official release of HarmonyOS 4 (Hongmeng 4), Huawei has once again demonstrated its commitment to innovation and technological advancement. The integration of AI large models in Hongmeng 4 enhances the intelligence and capabilities of smart cockpits, paving the way for the future of vehicle intelligence. As the competition intensifies, major car companies are recognizing the potential of AI large models to revolutionize the automotive industry, making it an exciting time for the evolution of smart driving.
