I&M Bank has appointed Janet J. Dali as the Group Head of Ecosystems and Strategic Partnerships, a division under the Group’s Digital Business.
Her enthusiasm for creating innovative, inclusive banking, fintech, and financial services ecosystems aligns with her new position.
Janet J. Dali’s portfolio
Janet has almost twenty years of transformational leadership experience and a strong background in ecosystem orchestration, high-impact partnership structuring, and digital product design.
Her professional trajectory demonstrates a forward-thinking builder and strategist.
She oversaw the introduction of a next-generation Banking-as-a-Service offering at Diamond Trust Bank (DTB), which allowed fintechs and other ecosystem participants to integrate with the main banking infrastructure dynamically.
Her work played a key role in creating the bank’s digital innovation hub and its flagship API platform, Astra, a driving force behind fintech, edtech, and healthtech partnerships that are changing the face of digital banking in East Africa.
Janet has held product management positions at Commercial Bank of Africa, Citi, GTBank Kenya, and NCBA Group. Additionally, she has experience working in a variety of Fintech roles.
She spearheaded early digital banking partnerships and strategies at Commercial Bank of Africa and later NCBA, spearheading regional innovation and achieving a noteworthy increase in open banking revenue and transaction volume.
Janet’s prospects in her new position
As she assumes her new position at I&M Bank, Janet is well-positioned to spearhead the development of technology-enabled, connective ecosystems that have a significant impact.
Her innovative and collaborative strategic mindset will be crucial to promoting inclusive growth throughout the bank’s partnerships and digital platforms.
This is a bold leadership decision that shows how ecosystems are becoming more significant than silos in Africa’s financial services industry.
I&M Bank’s 2025 expansion drive
Techpression reported in March that I&M Bank officially opened a new branch in Mtwapa, representing another significant turning point in the company’s growth.
This new branch strengthens its footprint in the coastal region and reaffirms its dedication to providing cutting-edge financial solutions to MSMEs, companies, and individuals.
As Mtwapa continues to grow, fuelled by tourism, trade and a vibrant commercial sector, its new branch is perfectly positioned to serve businesses, create investment opportunities and deliver seamless banking services.
Launching the Mtwapa Branch in Kilifi County, the ninth branch in the Coastal region and a significant turning point in I&M Bank’s development, marked the start of this year’s expansion drive.
