Khazna Data Centers has announced a partnership with NVIDIA to develop advanced AI factories in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region, aiming to accelerate AI infrastructure growth. This collaboration, which was revealed on Wednesday, aims to position the UAE and surrounding countries as global leaders in AI technology by deploying cutting-edge data centres designed specifically for AI workloads.

Building AI factories with NVIDIA-ready infrastructure

Khazna intends to design data halls with capacities of up to 50MW each and cluster AI hubs with a capacity reaching 250MW. Many of these facilities will be located within the upcoming UAE-US AI campus, a project reflecting deepening ties between the UAE and US technology leaders. NVIDIA has certified Khazna’s facility designs to support its latest Blackwell GPU architecture, ensuring full compatibility with the most advanced AI processing needs.

Hassan Alnaqbi, CEO of Khazna Data Centers, emphasised the importance of this collaboration, stating, “The world is entering a new era of AI-driven innovation, and the UAE is uniquely positioned to lead. Our work with NVIDIA represents a bold step forward in delivering high-performance, future-ready infrastructure at unprecedented scale. It reinforces our support for the UAE’s ambitions to become a global AI leader.”

This partnership will enable Khazna to expand rapidly across the MEA region and Europe, with plans to scale up to 1GW of capacity in countries including France, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Türkiye, and Kenya. The infrastructure will support high-density computing essential for AI-powered applications, making the region a hub for AI innovation.

Expanding AI capabilities across the region

Khazna’s partnership with NVIDIA comes during a surge of AI infrastructure investments in the Middle East and Africa. The company’s AI factories will be equipped with NVIDIA’s latest GPU-accelerated technology, designed to handle complex AI workloads efficiently and sustainably. This will facilitate advancements in AI research, cloud computing, and regional digital economies.

The partnership aligns with regional initiatives like the UAE-US 5GW AI campus and Saudi Arabia’s AI factory projects powered by NVIDIA. These efforts collectively aim to establish the Middle East as a global AI powerhouse. NVIDIA’s CEO Jensen Huang has highlighted AI as an essential infrastructure comparable to electricity and the internet, underscoring the strategic importance of these developments.

Khazna’s AI factories will serve governments and enterprises and foster innovation ecosystems by enabling advanced AI applications. This includes innovative city solutions, digital twins, and AI-powered services tailored to local cultures and needs, as seen in other regional AI projects like Yango Group’s AI assistant Yasmina, which supports Arabic and English users with culturally aware AI capabilities.

By integrating NVIDIA’s Blackwell architecture and designing scalable, energy-efficient data centres, Khazna sets a new standard for AI infrastructure in the MEA region. This initiative aims to enhance AI adoption and development, enabling businesses and governments to leverage AI’s potential fully.
