The Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA) , a technology hub in Kenya, has officially appointed John Okwiri to the position of CEO, after he has served in the role of CEO in an acting capacity for the past ten months.

After his confirmation, he would take over for Engineer John Tanui, who had been serving as the Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Information Communication and the Digital Economy since the position was created in 2017. After being appointed, Okwiri will be tasked with the responsibility of providing Konza Technopolis with the strategic leadership it needs to realize its objective of being a major global Technopolis and innovation hub.

Throughout the course of his career, Okwiri has been an essential figure in the successful implementation of large-scale projects at Konza Technopolis. These projects include the successful delivery of Konza Phase 1 Horizontal Infrastructure and the development of the Kenya Advance Institute of Science and Technology.
