IDT Corporation, an international startup that offers fintech services, traditional communications and cloud communications, has announced that it will be rebranding its Africa-based Leaf Wallet app to IDT’s flagship financial services brand, BOSS Money.

The rebranding is part of a larger plan that aims to utilize the key technologies of Leaf Wallet in to expand across Africa gradually. This will enable consumers in the United States to send money transfers directly to family and friends who live on the Continent.

Customers throughout Africa will be able to safely store, send, receive, and convert currencies on their mobile phones through the newly branded BOSS Money wallet, which will continue to employ the cutting-edge blockchain-based technology that the Leaf Wallet developed and implemented on the Stellar Network. 

Customers will still be able to access their funds and conduct transactions on feature phones by employing a USSD interface that can be accessed via a short code and the wallet application.

Customers in the United States who use the BOSS Money app will be able to send money to customers in Africa in their native currency using the BOSS Money wallet.

It is also possible to transfer the money to the recipient’s bank account or the wallet that their mobile service provider provides.
