African-focused neobank Lemonade Finance has announced that customers in the United Kingdom and Canada can now send money to ten African nations, including Senegal, Ivory Coast, Benin Republic, Cameroon, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Uganda.

“The addition of Senegal, Ivory Coast, Benin Republic, Cameroon, Tanzania, Uganda, and Rwanda was data-driven,” according to the business because they “have nationals overseas who frequently need to send money back home.”

Prior to this news, diasporans from the United Kingdom and Canada could send money to relatives and friends in Nigeria, Ghana, and Kenya.

Lemonade Finance Expanding Reach

Due to a new integration, lemonade finance users in the United Kingdom and Canada can now send money to ten African nations, including Senegal, Ivory Coast, Benin Republic, Cameroon, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Uganda. This new integration expands Lemonade Finance’s reach into the African market and solidifies our commitment to building the largest neobank for African immigrants.

The addition of these six nations is a significant milestone for the company, and it has been at the top of their priorities from the inception of Lemonade Finance: to ensure that Africans in the diaspora can send money to their family back home without any complications. It’s one of the ways immigrants can stay connected to the people in their lives. Someone in Canada can use Lemonade to send money to someone in Senegal. It’s quick, simple, and at the lowest possible cost.

How Did We Decide To Include These Seven African Countries?

Lemonade’s head of products, Afeez Gbotosho, had a lot to say about the choice to merge with six more countries. “The addition of Senegal, Ivory Coast, Benin Republic, Cameroon, Tanzania, Uganda, and Rwanda was driven by statistics,” he explained. “These six countries have nationals living overseas who frequently need to send money home.”

Knowing what the data said was one thing; making it happen was quite another. “The integration took a little longer than expected due to quality assurance and integration certification,” Afeez explained. “For all integrations, we have a quality assurance process that we follow.” We also have an integration certification process for Africa integrations that requires a significant amount of documentation.”

All nationals from the six new nations are encouraged to send money home right away by installing the Lemonade app from Google Play and the App Store.
