Liquid and Globalstar join forces to advance 5G network in Africa

Globalstar, an American connectivity developer, and Liquid Intelligent Technologies have established a strategic agreement to provide innovative 5G connectivity solutions across the Gulf, Middle East, and Africa.

The chairman and creator of Liquid Intelligent Technologies, Strive Masiyiwa, expressed his enthusiasm for the new connection possibilities that are taking shape due to advancements in 5G private networks. This is a tremendous step forward since it allows us to deliver Fifth Generation (5G) private networks to big companies like mine, which can facilitate NextGen services like AI.

How Liquid partnership with Globalstar will revolutionise 5G technologies

According to a press release, the partnership will provide Liquid with exclusive rights in the Gulf, Middle East, and Africa regions to sell and distribute Globalstar’s XCOM RAN private networks 5G access solution.

Liquid and Globalstar accelerate wireless tech in Africa

Liquid will provide comprehensive customer support for Globalstar’s products and services, including technical support and warranty services. The collaboration also includes potential non-exclusive expansion to Globalstar’s satellite, Band n53 spectrum, and IoT solutions.

Dr Paul E. Jacobs, CEO of Globalstar, said that Globalstar is pleased to partner with Cassava and Liquid, a group of well-respected leaders with a sharp focus on technology deployments. Also, the regions where Liquid is a leader are large and growing markets for its technologies, which enable safe automation and remote control of mobile equipment in high-value environments.

The 5G XCOM RAN product fundamentally differs from traditional wireless solutions and enables mission-critical, high-performance wireless applications. Combining XCOM RAN with the globally licensed Globalstar n53 mid-band spectrum creates a unique offering for private and enterprise 5G networks.

Together, Liquid and Globalstar will accelerate the deployment of advanced wireless technology in the Africa, Middle East, and Gulf regions.
