About Mamamoni

Mamamoni was founded by Nkem Okocha in 2014. Its core mission revolves around empowering women in low-income communities. The fintech has been at the forefront of this effort by providing them with innovative financial services.

By offering microloans, savings opportunities, and financial literacy training, Mamamoni is breaking down barriers and enabling women to take control of their finances and futures.

One of Mamamoni’s key objectives is to break the cycle of poverty that often plagues underserved communities. By providing financial resources and support, Mamamoni is equipping individuals with the tools they need to start businesses, generate income, and improve their quality of life. Through this approach, Mamamoni is offering short-term relief and creating long-lasting impact and sustainable change.

Mamamoni’s reach extends beyond just women, as the organisation is committed to providing financial services to all low-income earners in need. By catering to a diverse range of individuals and families, Mamamoni is promoting inclusivity and ensuring that no one is left behind in the journey towards economic empowerment.

Agency Banking Model

In response to surging demand, Mamamoni pivoted to an agency banking model in 2022. Today, the organisation boasts 500 female agents processing over $2 million monthly across ten states. This strategic shift has enabled Mamamoni to reach more women and communities, breaking cultural barriers and providing essential financial services where needed most.

This funding will support the expansion of Mamamoni’s network of female agents, facilitating access to financial services for low-income women across Nigeria. The grant recognises Mamamoni’s impactful work in empowering women and fostering economic independence.

From Femhealth outreach initiatives to team-building activities, Mamamoni’s activities exemplify a holistic approach to financial inclusion, entrepreneurship support, and women’s empowerment. Through strategic partnerships, innovative solutions, and a deep commitment to creating positive change, Mamamoni continues to uplift low-income earners and build stronger communities across Nigeria.
