A partnership between MediaTek, a major worldwide fabless semiconductor firm based in Taiwan, which provides power to almost 2 billion connected devices each year, and Airtel Nigeria, a significant telecoms service provider, has recently been announced.

The collaboration intends to accelerate technological improvements and improve mobile connectivity across the country. It will also witness the incorporation of hundreds of millions of persons into the digital economy, which will ultimately result in improved mobile connectivity across Nigeria.

This partnership draws attention to the ground-breaking Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) powered by MediaTek’s T750 platform, which improves internet connectivity. This breakthrough makes it possible for people to access high-speed 5G networks without having to leave the comfort of their own homes. This paves the way for previously unimaginable levels of remote work, gaming, online education, and streaming entertainment.

The T750 is capable of delivering exceptional 5G speeds right out of the box, reaching up to an astonishing 4.7Gbps. It offers performance that is comparable to or even exceeds that of conventional fixed-line services, making use of the existing cellular infrastructure while avoiding the costs involved with cable or fibre construction.

Ismail Adeshina, Director of Marketing for Airtel Nigeria, emphasised the significance of the partnership with the semiconductor company and how it will make connectivity more affordable for Nigerians. He also emphasised the relevance of the partnership. In his statement, “Our commitment to innovation is evident through our early adoption of 5G technology. We’re proactively investing in this technology to improve connectivity, to tackle coverage and cost challenges, and make 5G devices more accessible across Nigeria”.

MediaTek is the driving force behind some of the most well-known companies in the world, and the company is still committed to developing cutting-edge innovations through its most recent products and services. About MediaTek

In addition to providing chips for optical disc drives, wireless communications, high-definition television, handheld mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers, navigation systems, consumer multimedia products, and digital subscriber line services, MediaTek Inc. is a fabless semiconductor company based in Taiwan. It is currently the fifth largest fabless semiconductor manufacturer in the entire globe.

It is the global leader in the development of tightly integrated, power-efficient systems-on-chip (SoC) for mobile devices, home entertainment, network and connectivity, automated driving, and the Internet of Things (IoT).

The gaming performance of MediaTek’s CPUs is also very good, and the company’s chips are compatible with the vast majority of titles. Both processors are comparable in terms of their power efficiency and provide a lengthy battery life for their respective devices. On the other hand, Snapdragon CPUs are considered to offer slightly higher power efficiency, particularly in high-end handsets.

The distribution of high-quality technology to people in every region of the world is key to their purpose.
