On Tuesday, Moloco, a pioneer in advertising and operational machine learning (ML), announced a global strategic alliance with Xiaomi’s International Internet Business Department.

Through this collaboration, Moloco offers more personalised and efficient ad targeting by integrating its cutting-edge machine learning algorithms to increase the monetisation value of Xiaomi’s inventory.

In addition to providing more effective advertising solutions, the partnership will help developers expand in international markets, allowing brands to reach a wider audience and greatly increase user engagement.

Xiaomi is a leader in smartphones and smart devices, with over 702 million monthly active users worldwide. Given the company’s market leadership in more than 100 countries and regions, this collaboration will fully utilise Xiaomi’s global resources to help brands more precisely reach their target audiences, improve user engagement, and optimise advertising performance.

Moloco provides highly targeted ad placements on GetApps, Xiaomi’s international app store, by leveraging the company’s strong advertising and content service platforms. This assists developers in increasing app downloads.

In addition, Moloco’s advertisers profit from this collaboration by getting access to Xiaomi’s sizable user base worldwide through premium ad placements.

Xiaomi consistently expands its ecosystem through its ‘Human x Car x Home’ Smart Ecosystem strategy. The company is expanding into new product categories, such as electric vehicles like the Xiaomi SU7 while maintaining its dominant position in the global smartphone market.

With its sophisticated machine learning capabilities, Moloco will assist Xiaomi in optimising its advertising campaigns to improve performance across its extensive ecosystem.

Advertisers now have access to a variety of top-notch advertising channels, thanks to the integration of Moloco’s advertising platform with lock screen ads, in-app ads, and Xiaomi’s international app store (GetApps).

Since launching a pilot partnership in 2023, Moloco has greatly enhanced Xiaomi’s advertising performance using cutting-edge machine learning.

Key outcomes of Moloco-Xiaomi’s partnership

Among the collaboration’s key outcomes are:

Growth in Daily Spend: Since the partnership started, daily ad spending has been increasing steadily, which is indicative of the high demand in international markets for Xiaomi’s premium advertising offering.

Optimised Ad Formats: Banner ads make up a minor portion of the ad formats, which are primarily native and interstitial. Moloco has successfully increased ad conversion rates and broadened reach through the strategic distribution of ad formats, giving advertisers who partner with Xiaomi greater visibility and more successful conversion.

Global Market Expansion: Currently, the majority of Xiaomi’s exposure comes from the Brazilian, Indian, Turkish, and German markets combined, which strengthens the company’s standing as a premium advertising channel.

The new strategic partnership between Xiaomi’s International Internet Business Department and Moloco gives brands new advertising options, allowing them to maximise and improve global advertising performance while unlocking additional growth potential.

Ikkjin Ahn, Moloco Co-Founder and CEO, said, “As the mobile advertising industry continues to evolve, demands for efficient monetisation and the ability to target and reach the right users from advertisers continue to grow. We are thrilled to partner with Xiaomi’s International Internet Business Department and leverage Moloco’s deep expertise in machine learning and ad tech to enhance Xiaomi’s ad monetisation capabilities and optimise the campaign results and ROI of the advertisers who work with us. Moving forward, we will continue to expand our collaboration to drive further growth in the mobile advertising industry.”

Qiang Song, General Manager of Xiaomi International Internet Business, said, “Our partnership with Moloco has delivered significant results in ad monetisation and campaign optimisation. Moloco has helped enhance the competitiveness of our ad platform and is enabling advertisers to precisely reach their target users. We look forward to exploring more innovative models together in the future, further unlocking growth potential and creating greater commercial value for global brands and developers.”
