The Summit will examine ways to improve industry cooperation, fortify regulatory frameworks, and hasten digital and financial inclusion. It is organised into two interrelated streams: a Commercial & Ecosystem Forum and a Regulatory & Policy Forum.

Summit to include high-impact sessions

The Summit will include several high-impact sessions to promote regulatory alignment and financial innovation throughout Africa.

Important topics of discussion will include the need for standardised oversight of Mobile Money Payment Service Providers (PSPs), the delicate balance between data sovereignty and regulatory compliance, and how regulators and fintechs can fully realise the potential of cross-border remittances and float.

Nikiwe Tanga, Chief Legal Officer at MTN Group Fintech, added: “Our ambition extends beyond commercial objectives to include the advancement of sound regulatory and legal frameworks that support inclusive financial systems. This summit underscores MTN Group Fintech’s commitment to fostering trusted digital ecosystems that align with evolving legal standards and regulatory expectations. By facilitating dialogue, reinforcing compliance-driven partnerships, and promoting responsible innovation, we are contributing to the development of resilient financial infrastructures that uphold the rule of law and deliver sustainable value across Africa.”

Africa’s digital transformation journey is expected to be anchored by the MTN Fintech Summit 2025, emphasising the vital role that fintech plays in closing gaps in innovation, opportunity, and access.
