Africa’s largest fintech platform in terms of reach and scale, MTN Group Fintech, will hold its first MTN Fintech Summit 2025 in Johannesburg, South Africa, from September 9 to 11.
The summit, with the theme “Take-Off,” will bring together 300 delegates from all over Africa and beyond, including regulators, innovators in fintech, policymakers, and business executives from its varied markets.
Significant milestone in MTN Group Fintech’s development
The Summit is a significant milestone in the development of MTN Group Fintech and is intended to foster cooperation, information exchange, and new business prospects throughout the digital financial services sector in Africa.

The Summit will examine ways to improve industry cooperation, fortify regulatory frameworks, and hasten digital and financial inclusion. It is organised into two interrelated streams: a Commercial & Ecosystem Forum and a Regulatory & Policy Forum.
Summit to include high-impact sessions
The Summit will include several high-impact sessions to promote regulatory alignment and financial innovation throughout Africa.
Important topics of discussion will include the need for standardised oversight of Mobile Money Payment Service Providers (PSPs), the delicate balance between data sovereignty and regulatory compliance, and how regulators and fintechs can fully realise the potential of cross-border remittances and float.
