MTN South Sudan announced Thursday that Starlink is now available for purchase and support nationwide through its Connect Stores and Customer Service Points.

MTN is further positioned to support a national vision of digital penetration and empowerment throughout South Sudan, thanks to a historic partnership with SpaceX’s Starlink in September 2024 and a subsequent authorisation by the National Communications Authority.

“This partnership with Starlink is a game-changer for South Sudan,” said Olutayo Ogunjobi, Head of Enterprise Business Unit at MTN South Sudan. “It enables us to connect even the most remote communities with dependable internet access that can transform lives, empower businesses, and drive national development.”

Service offered by Starlink

The service offered by Starlink offers latency between 50 and 90 milliseconds and download speeds between 25 and 220 Mbps. This performance provides a strong substitute for the current rural connectivity options by supporting bandwidth-intensive activities such as video streaming and cloud-based applications.
