As part of its 20th anniversary celebration, MTN Zambia is giving away more than K10 million in cash and prizes in its biggest-ever consumer celebration.

The “Thank You Zambia” campaign honours two decades of expansion, creativity, and steadfast client loyalty. It also launches a national moment of gratitude that will be seen throughout the entire nation.

“This 20-year journey is a celebration of our customers and the future we’re building together,” said MTN Zambia CEO Abbad Reda.

“This campaign is about gratitude — turning every connection into a chance to say thank you and put cash, prizes, and joy directly into the hands of the people who made us what we are.” he added.

How winners will be selected

Over 2,000 winners will be announced every day as part of the “Thank You Zambia” mega campaign, with one winner every 20 seconds. This is a symbolic nod to MTN’s 20 years of service in Zambia.

A grand prize of K1 million will be divided between two lucky customers, and other prizes include laptops, iPhones, MoMo cash, luxury travel to Dubai, and local getaways.

In Lusaka, the festivities began with a memorable street party at PHI Mall, turning the morning rush hour into a dazzling demonstration of communal vigour.

The launch brought excitement to the capital and set the tone for the upcoming nationwide tour with its crowd giveaways, dance crews, live DJs, and appearances by well-known local artists.

“We wanted this to be more than just a promotion,” said Chief Consumer Officer Richard Acheampong. “It’s a meaningful campaign that brings people together, celebrates where we’ve come from, and looks ahead to the next 20 years of progress — together.”

In addition to the prize giveaway, there will be a number of roadshows, MoMo activations, community outreach activities, and a special radio and digital series that highlights actual customers whose lives have been changed by MTN’s connectivity and services.

MTN’s contribution to Zambia’s digital economy

By empowering entrepreneurs, expanding access to education, and providing connectivity to even the most remote communities, MTN has contributed to Zambia’s digital transformation, growing from a single tower in 2005 to a nationwide network that spans all ten provinces.

The nationwide “Thank You Zambia” celebration is currently underway. Customers only need to use *115# or *117# to purchase airtime, data, or voice bundles using MTN MoMo in order to take part.
