NCC issues mobile number series 0712 to Vitel Wireless

Vitel Wireless (Vitel) stated on Thursday that it has achieved a significant milestone in the Nigerian telecom sector by being the first Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) in the country to be given a mobile number series by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC).

The company claims that Vitel Wireless’ assignment of mobile number series 0712 marks a turning point in Nigeria’s developing MVNO sector.

It said: “Historically, the Nigerian MVNO market has been tightly regulated, with only a few players entering under stringent licensing requirements.”

“Vitel’s emergence as a fully licensed MVNO, complete with its own number series, highlights the country’s growing openness to competitive and innovative telecom solutions aimed at improving service delivery and accessibility.”

Vitel Wireless’s significant milestones

One of Vitel’s major achievements was receiving its own international routing code from NCC, which allowed for worldwide connectivity and put the business in a position to provide telecom services all over the world.

Additionally, Vitel claimed to have fulfilled all government regulations, opening the door for a seamless market debut.

The business said that it is now ready to introduce and provide cutting-edge, reasonably priced, and client-focused services throughout Nigeria.

Kenneth Nwabueze, chairman and CEO of Vitel, commented: “We are committed to providing reliable and cost-effective solutions that will drive Nigeria’s digital economy forward.”

The business continued by saying that Vitel Wireless is well-positioned to revolutionise Nigeria’s MVNO market by offering customised solutions that cater to the various needs of both individuals and companies, all while utilising the newest technologies and placing a high priority on customer satisfaction.
