Network international and GIM-UEMOA collaborate to enhance digital payments in West Africa

GIM-UEMOA, a West African regional payment network, and Network International, a renowned Middle Eastern and African payment solutions company, signed an MOU on Wednesday.

It would promote financial inclusion and innovation in the eight West African Economic and Monetary Union countries. Combining the talents of the two businesses will help create cutting-edge digital payment solutions via GIM-Pay.

This project offers safe, easy, and convenient payment alternatives to help UEMOA residents and meet the growing needs of companies and customers.

New partnership to enhance payments across West Africa

The partnership will make the affiliated member banks of GIM-UEMOA more valuable by giving them access to cutting-edge digital payment options that will help them serve their customers better and meet the financial needs of UEMOA users. The region’s goal is to improve financial inclusion and economic growth, and this offering fits that goal.

This collaboration with Network International facilitates the consolidation of infrastructure and solutions, thereby equipping the banking sector in West Africa with cutting-edge digital payment solutions.

The Managing Director of GIM-UEMOA, Minayegnan Coulibaly, stated, “We anticipate the advantages that will be realised for financial services entities throughout the region.”

Through this partnership, GIM-UEMOA and Network International have shown their continued commitment to working together and coming up with new ideas in the West African financial technology field.

This relationship shows the importance of partnerships in satisfying UEMOA’s financial and economic needs.

GIM-UEMOA (Groupement Interbancaire Monétique de l’UEMOA) is a regional electronic payment organisation in the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA). Established to promote financial inclusion, it facilitates secure interbank transactions and electronic payments across member states. 

GIM-UEMOA supports banks, microfinance institutions, and fintechs with digital payment solutions, enhancing the region’s financial integration and economic development.
