NICO Insurance Zambia on Thursday launched its digital platforms to give clients nationwide simpler, safer, and more convenient access to a comprehensive range of insurance services.

“As part of our ongoing commitment to innovation and customer-centric service delivery, we have introduced multiple digital access points that allow clients to manage their insurance needs anytime, from anywhere,” the company wrote in a statement on Thursday.

The following official platforms allow customers to easily explore products, purchase policies, and make payments:

https://clients-nico.inshuwa.com is the client’s website. The NICO Self-Service App is now accessible on Google Play and will soon be available on iOS.

How to Use USSD to Purchase NICO Insurance:

  1. Dial *488#
  2. Choose the 6-Insurance option.
  3. Select Option 1 – Motor
  4. Pick Option 1 – Buy Policy
  5. Opt for NICO Insurance

To choose the policy that best meets customers’ needs, customers can go to www.nicoinsurance.co.zm and select the “Buy Online” option.

These platforms are intended to increase transparency, streamline insurance procedures, and guarantee that clients can obtain trustworthy coverage without going to a physical branch.

It is highly recommended that customers refrain from paying employees directly.  To maintain security and accountability, only authorised digital channels should be used in any transaction.

NICO Insurance’s corporate social responsibility

NICO Insurance Zambia sponsored the Rhodespark School Talent Concert in March 2025, which was a vibrant display of the students’ talent and inventiveness.

In addition to giving young people a stage on which to express themselves and gain confidence, this annual event honours student excellence in music, dance, theatre, and art.

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and its commitment to the communities it serves, NICO Insurance Zambia keeps funding projects that empower and uplift the next generation.

The company believes that developing talent and promoting education are essential foundations for creating a resilient and forward-thinking society—values that are closely related to the enabling and protecting functions that insurance provides in people’s lives.

About NICO Insurance Zambia Limited

On October 1st, 1997, NICO Insurance Zambia Limited opened for business as a short-term insurer.  NICO Holdings, a financial services firm listed on the Malawi Stock Exchange, solely owned the business at the time.

Sanlam Emerging Markets (SEM) acquired 49 per cent of the company in 2013.  Among other things, SEM contributed technical assistance based on its experience and presence in 34 African countries as well as other areas like Malaysia and India.

NICO Insurance Zambia has been a robust short-term insurer for the duration of its existence, offering both corporate and retail clients high-quality services.

The company sells its insurance products at Kabulonga (Lusaka), Kitwe, Ndola, Chipata, and Livingstone in addition to its head office in Lusaka.  Based on revenue, the company ranks as Zambia’s fourth-largest insurer.

Being a forward-thinking business, some of its products are available for online purchase.
