To lessen the mounting burden of customers missing utility and service payments, OnePipe, a Nigerian fintech company, has introduced an automated payment scheduling feature on its PaywithAccount platform.

Nearly half of Nigerian adults missed at least one crucial utility or service payment in the previous year, according to a recent consumer survey conducted by financial inclusion advocate EFInA.

This new feature is in response to the survey’s findings. Service interruptions, fines, and needless financial stress are frequently the results of these late payments.

What the automated scheduling feature offers

The fintech claims that PaywithAccount’s new scheduling solution helps users avoid the hassle of manual payment reminders and late fees by allowing them to automate recurring payments straight from their current bank accounts through paywithaccount.com.

According to Akin Olunloye, Product Manager at PaywithAccount, the launch was prompted by Nigerians’ growing desire for more intelligent and user-friendly payment methods.

“Managing monthly payments has become a significant source of stress for many Nigerians.”

“This scheduling feature within PaywithAccount is a direct response to the need for automation. Our goal is to help consumers streamline their payments reliably and consistently,” he said in a statement.

The feature currently supports all of the major mobile network operators, including MTN, Airtel, Glo, and 9Mobile, as well as major electricity distribution companies, such as Eko, Ikeja, Abuja, and Ibadan.

According to OnePipe, more categories, such as insurance premiums and cooperative society dues, will be added in the upcoming months.

Early users express satisfaction

Early adopters have expressed great satisfaction with the feature’s convenience. “Missing electricity payments has always been a hassle in my household. Automating with PaywithAccount has eliminated that completely. I get notifications and receipts immediately through WhatsApp. It’s made a big difference,” stated Chinyere, a Lagos-based lawyer.

Similar sentiments were expressed by Sodiq, another early user and digital marketer: “I handle various payments every month for family and business purposes. Automating these transactions with PaywithAccount means I never worry about disruptions, even if I’m occupied or travelling. It’s genuinely simplified how I handle my finances.”

Need for automated payment solutions

The launch comes after a report that highlighted the need for automated payment solutions by showing that nearly half of all urban Nigerians have had their access to essential services disrupted because they forgot or delayed payments.

For millions of Nigerians managing numerous payment obligations, OnePipe hopes to make daily financial management more effective, dependable, and stress-free with PaywithAccount’s scheduling feature.

Nigerians can easily schedule and manage recurring payments from their current bank accounts with PaywithAccount by OnePipe, a payment automation platform.
