On Thursday, NTT DATA made a bold move by announcing the launch of a dedicated global business unit for Microsoft Cloud to accelerate secure, AI-driven enterprise transformation.

This strategic initiative underscores NTT DATA’s commitment to harnessing the power of advanced cloud and AI technologies to help businesses modernise operations and innovate at scale.

Accelerating AI-driven cloud innovation with Microsoft Cloud

NTT DATA’s new Microsoft Cloud unit combines the company’s extensive industry expertise and technical capabilities with Microsoft’s cutting-edge cloud infrastructure.

Operating in over 50 countries with a team of 24,000 Microsoft-certified specialists, the unit is designed to fast-track cloud modernisation efforts by leveraging Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and Azure AI Foundry technologies.

Charlie Li, Head of Cloud and Security Services at NTT DATA, said, “Through our global business unit for Microsoft Cloud, we’re bringing together the strengths of both organizations to solve modern problems using advanced cloud and AI technologies, whether it’s modernizing operations, improving how people work and connect, or delivering more intelligent, secure and resilient digital experiences.”

This move reflects the surging demand for intelligent, scalable, and anchored enterprise solutions that are anchored in strong security and compliance frameworks.

The unit focuses on cloud-native development, cybersecurity, and Agentic AI—a growing frontier in enterprise automation that involves multi-agent AI models orchestrated to improve business workflows efficiently.

Pioneering agentic AI and sovereign cloud adoption

One of the key highlights of NTT DATA’s new global business unit is its emphasis on Agentic AI at scale.

The company has generated nearly 100 enterprise client opportunities in 90 days through its Agentic AI Services, utilising Microsoft’s Azure AI Agent Service platform.

This AI-driven approach integrates real-time voice communication and intelligent automation tailored for regulated industries.

Aishwarya Singh, Senior Vice President and Head of the Global Business Unit for Microsoft Cloud, highlighted the unit’s mission to expand secure cloud services while supporting complex sovereignty and compliance requirements.

NTT DATA’s collaboration with Microsoft on Sovereign Cloud specialisation ensures enterprises can confidently adopt cloud solutions while navigating stringent data governance rules globally.

This partnership also boosts developer acceleration, with the unit offering a microservices library of over 500 industry-specific accelerators built on NTT DATA’s Industry Cloud platform.

Enhanced digital experiences are another focus area, employing Microsoft 365 and Dynamics 365 solutions to enable connected workplaces and seamless customer engagement.

As Stephen Boyle, Microsoft’s Global Leader for Systems Integration and Advisory, noted, “NTT DATA has played a pivotal role in driving global adoption of Microsoft Azure innovations. This global business unit and our expanded collaboration enable enterprises to integrate AI seamlessly, modernise operations, and confidently achieve digital transformation.”

NTT DATA’s establishment of the Microsoft Cloud unit marks a new chapter for enterprises aiming to accelerate digital transformation securely and intelligently, rooted in one of the world’s most powerful cloud ecosystems.
