In a bid to ensure sustainable growth for the future, Orange, a Pan-African Network Operator and digital service provider, has announced the appointment of new leaders across its B2B Africa and Middle East units.

What The Change In Management Will Do for Orange

According to the group, the change in management will help to refocus and capitalize on the regions that have experienced growth and financial increase in recent times.

The Middle East and Africa are currently the Group’s “major growth drivers”, having both produced favourable results over the recent years.

The regions contributed a year-on-year growth of 8.7 percent, which equates to US$142-million, preserving the overall Group revenue at a flat rate of 0.7 percent to US$11.3-billion.

The New Leadership

Aliette Mousnier-Lompré

The group appointed Aliette Mousnier-Lompré as CEO of Orange Business Services. Aliette reports to the Orange Group Chairman, Christel Heydemann, and is a member of the Orange Group Executive Board. She was previously Executive Vice President of Customer Service and Operations.

This appointment follows the departure of Helmut Reisinger in January 2022 and the interim period overseen with the considerable commitment by Aliette. She will join the Group’s Executive Committee. This appointment takes immediate effect.

Jérôme Hénique

Jérôme Hénique is appointed Chief Executive Officer of Orange Middle East and Africa (OMEA). He is currently Director of Operations and Deputy CEO of the Group’s regional subsidiary present in 18 countries in Africa and the Middle East.

He will take over the management of the subsidiary from Alioune Ndiaye who wishes to concentrate on his role as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Jérôme Hénique will join the Group’s Executive Committee. This appointment will take effect from 1 July, 2022.

The other members of the Executive Committee all remain in their current roles.

The Group CEO’s Statement Regarding Leadership Changes

The CEO of Orange, Christel Heydemann said that the change in management is a reflection of the group’s priorities for the next few months, which need to be accelerated.

“Africa and the Middle East continue to be our main growth driver, again delivering remarkable performance, with most African countries producing double-digit growth thanks to new telecoms services that are off-setting the heightened competition for Orange Money. The changes announced today reflect the priorities for the next few months on which we must now accelerate,”
