Only 20 startups are selected from over 1,000 applications each year, ensuring that the most promising ideas receive focused support.

Participants undergo a rigorous six-month curriculum that includes masterclasses on financial management, business development, and intellectual property protection. This structured approach equips entrepreneurs with practical skills and fosters innovation that is transforming Nigeria’s economic landscape.

A lasting impact

Since its inception, Orange Corners has committed approximately €6.2 million in funding and support to nurture these startups. The program has significantly reduced youth unemployment by empowering young people to create businesses.

Odije-Fajusigbe noted that this initiative aligns with the Dutch government’s Youth at Heart Policy, which focuses on harnessing young people’s potential to drive economic growth.

The success stories from Orange Corners reflect a broader trend in Nigeria’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Startups that began as mere ideas are now significantly impacting various sectors, from agriculture to technology.

As Odije-Fajusigbe stated, “These young, dynamic businesses are more than just companies; they are solutions to local and global problems.”

With applications now open for its 12th cohort, Orange Corners continues to invite ambitious entrepreneurs ready to make a difference in their communities. The program remains free for selected participants, ensuring accessibility for all aspiring business owners.

Through initiatives like Orange Corners, Nigeria is witnessing a vibrant transformation in its startup culture, paving the way for future innovators and leaders.
