Orange Egypt and Huawei on Tuesday announced a landmark partnership to deploy advanced 5G infrastructure across Egypt, setting the stage for transformative innovations in smart cities, IoT, AI, AR, VR, and beyond.

The partnership strengthens a long-standing relationship between the two companies and reflects their shared focus on building high-speed, energy-efficient networks to meet rising data demand and enable future technologies.

The technology boosts network performance, spectral efficiency, and service quality through advanced beamforming and spatial multiplexing, delivering seamless connectivity even in densely populated areas.

This partnership will act as a catalyst for emerging technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, augmented reality (AR), and virtual reality (VR).

Enhancing service quality

Orange Egypt’s deployment of Massive MIMO will enable more efficient spectrum use, delivering higher bandwidth and enhanced service quality for data-intensive applications such as VR, AR, and 4K/8K video streaming.

With 5G’s ultra-low latency and high data rates, Egyptian businesses are set to unlock new levels of productivity and innovation across sectors.

In line with global sustainability goals, Huawei also introduced its “0 Bit 0 Watt” energy-efficiency platform. This AI-powered system dynamically manages power consumption in 5G networks, cutting energy use without compromising performance.

Initiative supports Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The platform supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of energy conservation and emission reduction while allowing Orange Egypt to drastically cut operating costs through AI-driven energy optimisation algorithms.

Orange Egypt and Huawei will also implement Huawei’s E-band microwave technology under this agreement. This technology permits ultra-high throughput and low-latency wireless backhaul solutions.

This solution is perfect for both urban and rural areas with high demand, where traditional fibre optic cables might be challenging to install.

Orange Egypt can provide a dependable and fast 5G experience throughout the nation thanks to E-band microwave technology, which will enable more individuals and companies to participate in the digital economy.

Orange Egypt, Huawei express optimism

“We are excited to deepen our partnership with Huawei and bring innovative 5G solutions to Egypt,” said Dr. Ayman Amiri, Chief Technology & Information Officer for Orange Egypt.

“The integration of Massive MIMO, the energy-efficient ‘0 Bit 0 Watt’ platform, and E-band microwave technology will not only enhance the capabilities of our network but also set the foundation for smart cities, IoT development, and new digital services that will transform Egypt’s telecommunications landscape.”

Mohamed Youssef, Key Account Executive at Huawei Egypt, added: “With our advanced 5G solutions, we are enabling the next generation of mobile networks to deliver faster, more reliable, and energy-efficient services.

The strategic alliance between Huawei and Orange Egypt represents a significant advancement for Egypt’s telecom network. As 5G networks take shape, both businesses are committed to changing Egypt’s digital environment and opening new doors for consumers and businesses.
