Raxio Group, the largest operator of carrier-neutral Tier III data centres in Africa, on Monday appointed Maria Miguel Pinto as General Manager of its Angolan operations, effective immediately.

Why Maria Miguel Pinto

Prior to joining Raxio, Pinto was the Country General Manager for Angola at IBM. In the banking industry, she has held senior technology leadership positions, such as Chief Information Officer at Banco de Fomento Angola (BFA), one of the biggest financial institutions in the nation.

She brings a special blend of strategic, operational, and local expertise to her new position, having delivered enterprise technology solutions across various sectors for 15 years.

“This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to Angola’s digital future at a time of massive momentum,” said Pinto. “Raxio’s mission to deliver world-class infrastructure across Africa aligns with my passion for using technology to drive inclusive growth, and my focus on building a stronger, more resilient local digital ecosystem.”

Raxio’s expansion in Africa

As the top data center provider in Africa, Raxio Group promises excellent dependability and continuous operation, even during maintenance, in complete adherence to Tier III standards.

With additional facilities planned in Angola and in development in Tanzania, the company currently operates data centers in Uganda, Ethiopia, Mozambique, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Côte d’Ivoire. By connecting with numerous network and internet service providers, the carrier-neutral co-location facilities allow Raxio to save money and provide flexibility to a wide range of businesses.

Pinto to oversee all aspects of Angolan operations

Pinto is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Raxio’s Angolan operations, including strategic growth, regulatory compliance, and customer relations, in his capacity as General Manager effective immediately.

Her appointment marks an important turning point as Raxio prepares to expand its infrastructure in Angola and support the country’s rapid economic diversification away from oil through the deployment of digital infrastructure.

“Maria brings a rare combination of technical expertise, business acumen, and a deep understanding of Angola’s digital and economic landscape,” said Robert Skjødt, CEO at Raxio Group. “Her leadership will be central to our success as we scale operations and support the country’s digital evolution.”

About Raxio Group

The top operator of carrier-neutral Tier III data centres in Africa is Raxio Group. It is committed to providing top-notch co-location and connectivity services while assisting Africa’s digital transformation by offering cutting-edge, dependable, and sustainable data infrastructure solutions that promote and stimulate digital inclusion and economic growth throughout the continent.

Tanzania is still being developed, but Raxio Group currently operates in Uganda, Ethiopia, Mozambique, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Côte d’Ivoire. It recently expanded to Angola.

In order to create a network of connected data centres that can meet both active and latent demand throughout the African continent, it is continuously growing its footprint and plans to construct a number of new facilities in the upcoming years.
