RITA Africa (Rise In Tech Africa) has partnered with OmniContact International BPO Services, a prominent subsidiary of Econet Wireless Zimbabwe, in a transformative initiative designed to significantly expand Africa’s technology talent pipeline.
The strategic partnership aims to offer globally competitive, industry-aligned training programs and certifications to thousands of aspiring tech professionals.
Under the agreement, RITA Africa will serve as the official tech training partner, offering practical and cutting-edge programs across high-demand fields such as Data Analytics, Data Science & Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, DevOps, Software Engineering, and Fullstack Web Development.
Each training program has been designed to reflect global best practices and standards, equipping learners with job-ready skills and a competitive mindset required to thrive in the global digital economy.
Leveraging networks to scale digital learning
OmniContact BPO Services will serve as the outreach and distribution partner for the initiative. Through its strong internal network within Econet Wireless and its external customer base across Zimbabwe and the region, the company is positioned to drive large-scale adoption of the RITA training programs.
The collaboration is expected to reach over 6,000 members of the OmniContact workforce and more than 15,000 employees within the wider Econet Wireless Group. Beyond that, the partners are aiming to extend the opportunity to thousands of young tech talents across Zimbabwe and other parts of Africa.
“This partnership is a defining moment. We are not just training people — we are building a future where African youth are creators of technology, not just consumers,” said Darlington Yeboah Faddams, CEO of RITA Africa.
Driving inclusion and closing Africa’s digital skills gap
The partnership is rooted in more than education. It seeks to serve as a catalyst for closing Africa’s digital skills gap, fostering innovation, and encouraging inclusive participation in the global digital economy.
“OmniContact’s mandate is to create meaningful opportunities through innovation and outreach. Partnering with RITA Africa brings that vision to life in a way that will have a lasting impact on lives and livelihoods,” said Otis Tawanda Makahamadze, Chief Operating Officer of OmniContact.
The initiative is also meant to serve as a blueprint for other organizations and governments, showing how strategic collaboration between education providers and large employers can shape the future of work across Africa. With the continent’s tech sector growing rapidly, demand for trained professionals is outpacing supply — a gap this partnership aims to close.
By combining training delivery with outreach and scalability, RITA Africa and OmniContact are laying the foundation for a new generation of African technologists. The partnership reflects a shared belief that with the right tools, training, and vision, Africa’s youth can become not just participants in the global digital economy, but also leaders in it.
