The Safaricom Investment Co-operative (SIC) has announced the appointment of Churchill Ochieng’ as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective immediately. With over 25 years of experience spanning leadership, cash flow management, corporate development, and brand management, Ochieng’ brings a wealth of expertise to his new role.

In a press release on Thursday, the SIC Board expressed confidence in Ochieng’s ability to steer the investment cooperative to new heights. 

Judy Runo, Chairperson of SIC, highlighted Ochieng’s track record in banking, telecommunications, fast-moving consumer goods, and facility management industries as key strengths that will drive the cooperative’s growth and profitability.

Ochieng’s Career Trajectory

Before joining SIC, Ochieng’ served as the Managing Director at Sender Services Limited for four years. His previous roles include Head of Airtel Money and Zonal Business in sales and distribution at Airtel Kenya, Head of Personal Banking at Guarantee Trust Bank, and General Manager of Personal and Business Banking at Faulu Kenya Bank. Ochieng’ has also held senior positions at Standard Bank Group and Barclays Bank of Kenya (now Absa).

“We are confident that his impeccable track record in banking, telco, fast-moving consumer goods, and facility management industries, coupled with his proven ability to develop and strengthen management teams, will maximise company profitability and efficiency,” said Judy Runo, Chairperson of SIC.

Ochieng’ holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) and a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of Nairobi. He is pursuing a doctorate at the same institution, demonstrating his commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
