GROW with SAP, a new service designed to facilitate the adoption of cloud-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) by medium-sized businesses, has been officially launched in South Africa, according to SAP Africa.

Customers who choose to GROW with SAP may take advantage of the same best practices that fuel the world’s industry leaders, as well as the advantages of speedy deployment and seamless upgrades.

According to Evert-Jan Tromp, Vice President Solution Sales Mid Market EMEA South, SAP’s ERP offering has consistently provided comprehensive visibility throughout the entire business operations for the world’s top companies. “With GROW with SAP, we’re taking this to the next level for midsize companies with a tailored offering that helps them grow their business. Being able to support many businesses on the continent with an agile, affordable and scalable offering. GROW with SAP provides the agility and innovation midsize companies need not just today, but for their success in years to come.”

For the past 50 years, SAP has collaborated closely with customers from various industries, leveraging its expertise to establish and set industry-specific processes as benchmarks for excellence. The GROW with SAP offers preconfigured best practices that midsize companies can readily adopt.

Utilizing best-practice standards

The incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI) and automation capabilities enables customers to experience swift results. The GROW with SAP offering combines SAP S/4HANA Cloud, public edition, with accelerated adoption services, a global community of experts, and complimentary learning resources. This comprehensive package enables customers to successfully launch their operations in as little as four weeks.

According to Rob Coombe, the Group IT Manager at Royal Eswatini Sugar Corporation, the deployment of SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud has resulted in enhanced efficiency throughout the organization. This is achieved by utilizing best-practice standards to ensure seamless process operations and realizing substantial cost reductions. The power and scalability of the platform can also support our business as we enter new product segments and markets, allowing us to quickly and efficiently bring new processes and business capabilities online.”

The GROW with SAP offering encompasses SAP Business Technology Platform, enabling customers to establish their own processes in a cloud-native way utilizing SAP Build. SAP Build solutions empower business users to develop enterprise applications, streamline processes, and design business websites without the need for coding. This capability is particularly valuable for individuals who possess intimate knowledge of the business and can create customized solutions to meet their specific requirements.

Filling the technology infrastructure gap

The dynamic partner ecosystem of SAP will actively collaborate with customers to address their digital transformation requirements and provide support in implementing GROW with SAP. According to research conducted by SAP Africa, it has been observed that digital transformation specialists are highly sought after by 48% of organizations in Africa. This finding suggests that there may be a skills gap for companies aiming to expand their operations into the cloud.

According to research conducted by IDC, a significant number of midsize businesses are experiencing rapid growth and require their technology infrastructure to scale accordingly. These businesses face similar challenges related to global complexity as larger enterprise organisations.

According to  IDC enterprise software group vice president Mickey North Rizza “With GROW with SAP, SAP recognised they need to better fit the business and technology requirements of midsize companies looking for a cloud ERP solution. This offering reengages the market with a refreshingly new opportunity to unlock the proven strength of SAP’s long-time understanding and leadership in the ERP space in the cloud.”
