Seamfix Limited announced on Thursday that it will participate as a Diamond Sponsor at the 2025 National Identity Day in Abuja, strengthening Nigeria’s digital identity infrastructure in collaboration with the National Identity Management Commission.

Purpose of National Identity Day

National Identity Day aims to raise awareness of the value of a trustworthy identity as a driving force behind digital transformation, financial inclusion, and national development.

This year’s theme was “Public Key Infrastructure: The Backbone to Digital Public Infrastructure,” which examined how frameworks for safe identity and trust can improve governance, enable inclusive services, and stimulate economic growth in Nigeria and elsewhere.

According to Seamfix, its sponsorship demonstrates its dedication to NIMC’s mission of giving every Nigerian a safe and authentic digital identity.

The company’s belief that identity is a right for everyone, not a privilege for a select few, is reflected in its involvement in National Identity Day, which goes beyond sponsorship.

“Identity is the foundation of opportunity,” Co-Founder and Group Chief Executive Officer of Seamfix Limited, Chimezie Emewulu, said. “Identity is the key to opening a bank account and accessing healthcare, education, or government services. At Seamfix, no one should be left behind because they lack proof of who they are. Our partnership with NIMC ensures that every Nigerian can be recognised, included, and empowered through a trusted digital identity.”

NIMC at the forefront of leading Nigeria’s identity management strategy

NIMC has been leading Nigeria’s identity management strategy since its founding through the National Identification Number and other digital identity initiatives.

These initiatives serve as the foundation for creating reliable digital ecosystems in the public and private sectors and assist with regulatory compliance.

Using biometric and demographic data, Seamfix has fueled these initiatives with state-of-the-art identity technologies that allow governments, regulators, and businesses to mass-enrol and validate millions of citizens.

In addition, the company has improved adherence to CBN’s KYC and AML regulations, NCC SIM registration guidelines, and NDPR/GDPR data protection frameworks. Through safe onboarding and authentication systems, the company has made it easier for customers to access financial, healthcare, educational, and telecommunications services.

Additionally, Seamfix has implemented cutting-edge identity and access management solutions to enhance organisations’ workforce access and internal security. The company claims that identity systems that integrate automation, biometrics, and artificial intelligence make them safe, compliant, inclusive, and accessible for people in urban and rural communities.

Engagement of Seamfix with stakeholders to address digital trust in Nigeria

Seamfix participated in crucial disc regulators, policymakers, and business executives at this year’s National Identity Day about how Public Key Infrastructure can support digital trust in Nigeria.

PKI is a crucial component of digital public infrastructure since it supports trusted transactions, encrypted communication, and secure digital signatures.

According to Seamfix, it develops PKI-aligned solutions to boost digital trust in government services by allowing citizens to safely access e-governance platforms, safeguarding people and companies against financial transaction fraud, bolstering telecommunications resilience through subscriber identity management and secure SIM registration, and fostering cross-sector interoperability by bridging identity systems to create a single digital ecosystem.

Larger goal of Seamfix

Seamfix’s larger goal is to create Africa’s most reliable identity and access solutions, which includes supporting National Identity Day. With its flagship products, Fixiam, GovSmart, BioSmart X, Verify, and SeamID, the company has facilitated more than 400 million digital identity verifications for banks, fintechs, and businesses, enabled over 70 million biometric SIM registrations across telecoms, and enrolled more than 50 million citizens in national identity programs.

The company reiterated that governments, the private sector, regulators, and civil society must work together to address identity, as it is not merely a technical matter.

“Events like National Identity Day are important reminders that identity is about inclusion,” Emewulu added. “It’s about ensuring that every citizen can participate fully in the digital economy, regardless of where they live or their socioeconomic status. We are proud to stand with NIMC in advancing this mission.”
