Selar, Africa’s largest creator platform, is thrilled to unveil its ‘Selar Tuition Fund,’ which supports Nigerian tertiary students.

Nigeria is experiencing one of its worst economic periods, raising the cost of life. Concerns exist over the country’s youth’s socioeconomic growth. Public university tuition costs have increased significantly, raising the expense of education nationwide. Many federal colleges have raised registration and tuition costs by over 200%.

The “Selar Tuition Fund” helps Nigerian students focus on academics and careers by alleviating financial burdens. Selar is also committed to achieving Nigeria’s Sustainable Development Goal for education, which aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and encourage lifelong learning.

The project’s annuality shows the company’s commitment to Nigerian education.

The inaugural “Selar Tuition Fund” aims to help final-year students overcome rising tuition and graduate. The idea aims to support 50 final-year students by giving them each ₦100,000.

Selar founder/CEO says, “Creators monetising their knowledge is why Selar exists. While much of the knowledge commercialised today is informal, formal education is vital for everyone. We value this money because education opens doors to a new world for many. We’re proud to help every youngster get a good education. I’m excited to see this year’s outstanding students”.

In addition to providing financial assistance, Selar is committed to offering internship opportunities to the recipients, further enhancing their educational experience and nurturing their career growth.

To get this scholarship, applicants must complete these requirements:

Must be a Nigerian university student in their last year.

3.0 CGPA/Above 65% cumulative grade with academic records as proof.

Clear purpose statement.

Must have financial or economic needs.

Applicants must complete this form (link) and show proof. Based on the evidence, an external committee will carefully screen the applications. Successful applicants will be notified after screening.

Selar’s Tuition Support Project applications are open February 14–21, 2024. During this time, interested students should apply.
