Smile Identity, a renowned firm that provides ID verification and KYC compliance infrastructure to companies of all sizes, has rebranded as Smile ID.

Changes made as part of the rebranding include a new name (Smile ID), logo, website, and products.

Smile ID has made tremendous strides in the ID verification space in Africa, allowing companies to more easily verify their clients’ identities. The startup’s service delivery makes use of cutting-edge technology, including face recognition and data integration. Since its launch in 2017, it has established the most comprehensive set of Know Your Customer/Anti-Money Laundering solutions on the African continent and completed over 75 million ID verifications.

According to Mark Straub, CEO of Smile ID, “KYC in Africa is evolving and maturing, and businesses need a lot more than identity verification; they need access to global AML and watchlists; they need to verify the IDs of people from around the world doing business in Africa; they need to be able to support Africans as they travel.

“Over the last six months, we have made major investments in our platform, which we are rolling out this quarter in conjunction with our new brand; the refreshed brand simply reflects the improvements we have made in our products. By simplifying the company’s name to Smile ID, we’re embracing the name by which we’re often referred to and taking another step towards enabling companies to more easily combine our services. New Logo and Branding

The new logo and colour scheme represent the company’s goal to improve the lives of people in Africa by making it simple for companies across the world to verify their identities and bring them aboard. As Africa’s most thriving and inventive companies join together with Smile ID, the door to a safer, more digitally trusted future opens.

Website Makeover

New information on Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements and best practises throughout Africa can be found on the company’s updated website (usesmileid.com), which has also been given a facelift.

Updates to Existing Products

Moreover, as a part of the rebranding, Smile ID is thrilled to announce the following upgrades to its product line:

Smile ID’s new v10 Android and iOS software development kits (SDKs) are now available in beta and boast improved reliability, easier integration, and more robust functionality.

Smile Secure’s Anti-Fraud Measures A brand-new supplementary tool that alerts companies whether a user has already registered for their service, thereby reducing the likelihood of fraud.

Smile’s Know Your Customer (KYC) Web Links is a no-code solution that helps companies onboard customers by directing them to a website where they may upload photos of themselves, their identification information, and any supporting documents.

The rebranding will be applied to all of the company’s products and services with immediate effect.
