A leading African Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions firm, Stride ERP, has commenced a research project into incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into its ERP system to ease business operations for businesses across the continent.

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is a form of software that is used by enterprises to manage routine business operations like accounting, purchasing, project management, risk management and compliance, and supply chain management.

CEO of Stride ERP, Nnamdi Azogu, announced this in an interview with Newsmen while describing AI as a tool that will improve decision-making and predictive analytics.

He noted that users would be able to envisage trends, establishing contract agreements, carry out complex computations, forecast and identify possible opportunities or threats in industries where even tiny changes can have a large impact.

What is Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)?

ERP is a form of software used by businesses to manage day-to-day company activities such as accounting, procurement, project management, risk management and compliance, and supply chain operations. A comprehensive ERP package also contains enterprise performance management software, which aids in the planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting of an organisation’s financial results.

ERP systems connect a variety of company activities and allow data to move between them. ERP solutions avoid data duplication and ensure data integrity with a single source of truth by gathering an organisation’s shared transactional data from numerous sources.

ERP systems are now essential for managing thousands of enterprises of all sizes and industries. ERP is as essential to these businesses as the energy that keeps the lights on.
